Are results guaranteed?
At Dermabeauty Med Spa, we are dedicated to providing our clients with high-quality, personalized treatments designed to enhance your natural beauty and well-being. While we strive to deliver outstanding results for all our clients, it is essential to understand that individual responses to our treatments may vary. Therefore, we want to emphasize the following points:
Varied Outcomes: Each individual is unique, and results from our treatments can vary based on factors such as age, skin type, genetics, lifestyle, and overall health. We cannot guarantee specific results as they may differ from person to person.
Consultation is Key: Before undergoing any procedure or treatment, we conduct a thorough consultation to assess your specific needs and goals. During this consultation, we will discuss realistic expectations and potential outcomes. It's crucial to have open and honest communication to ensure that we understand your desires and can provide a personalized treatment plan.
Patient Compliance: The effectiveness of our treatments often depends on patient compliance with pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions. Following our recommended skincare routines, dietary guidelines, and lifestyle advice is essential to achieving the best possible results.
Multiple Sessions: Some of our treatments may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired outcome. We will outline the recommended number of sessions during your consultation, but please understand that results may not be fully evident until the treatment plan is complete.
Natural Variations: Certain treatments may produce subtle changes that enhance your appearance while maintaining a natural look. We prioritize safety and the preservation of your unique features, and this approach may not always lead to dramatic transformations.
Possible Risks: Like any medical or aesthetic procedure, there may be inherent risks associated with our treatments. We will discuss potential risks and side effects during the consultation and take all necessary precautions to minimize them.
Patience is Key: Achieving the desired results may take time. It's important to be patient and realistic about the timeline for seeing improvements. Some treatments may require weeks or even months before you notice significant changes.
Maintenance: Many of our treatments require ongoing maintenance to sustain results. We will provide guidance on follow-up appointments and at-home care to help you maintain your appearance.
No Guarantees of Perfection: While we strive for excellence in every treatment we provide, it's important to remember that perfection cannot be guaranteed. We aim to enhance your natural beauty and help you feel your best, but absolute perfection may not always be attainable.

A medical spa will typically offer superior treatments that include cosmetic/medical-grade treatments providing noticeable and immediate results. Whereas a day spa offers limited services and results.
What should I do before my appointment?
Dermabeauty Medical Spa asks that you please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled procedure time to provide time for any prep and paperwork that needs to be done beforehand. If you are coming in for facial procedures or consultations, please arrive without makeup if possible.
If you are having an injectable procedure and are on blood thinners, such as Aspirin, Plavix, Warfarin, Advil, Motrin, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba, or St. John’s Wort, please consult your physician or call our office for a review of your medications to advise if you should discontinue these temporarily prior to your procedure.
It is best practice to avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to an injectable or microneedling treatment.
How much downtime is necessary?
At Dermabeauty Medical Spa, most of our procedures require no to minimal downtime. Most patients do not require time off from work and can even return to work the same day. Some of the injectables may cause mild swelling for a period of 24 hours afterward.
How long do treatments take?
At Dermabeauty Medical Spa, we try to minimize waiting times by allotting 30 minutes to an hour for each treatment, depending on the service.
How do I know what treatments to schedule an appointment for?
At Dermabeauty Medical Spa, we recommend you start by booking a consultation during which time we will analyze your skin and listen to what areas you want to target. After this, our professionals will provide a recommendation on which treatments will help you achieve the results you are seeking and best suit your skin type. From there, we will work together to help you achieve your desired outcome.
General Neurotoxin FAQ:
In medical spas, neurotoxins refer to a group of medications that are used for cosmetic purposes, primarily to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. The most well-known neurotoxins used in medical spas are botulinum toxins, such as Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA), Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA), and Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA).
Here's how they work:
Botulinum Toxin Production: Botulinum toxins are produced by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum. These toxins are extremely potent and can cause paralysis by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction, at the neuromuscular junction.
Injection Procedure: At Dermabeauty Medical Spa, a trained healthcare professional, such as a registered nurse, administers the neurotoxin through injections. The procedure is minimally invasive and generally only takes a few minutes.
Localized Paralysis: Once injected, the neurotoxin works by binding to the nerve endings near the injection site. This binding prevents the release of acetylcholine, thereby inhibiting the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions.
Muscle Relaxation: By inducing localized muscle paralysis, the neurotoxin relaxes the overactive facial muscles that contribute to the formation of wrinkles and fine lines, particularly in areas like the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), and around the eyes (crow's feet).
Results & Duration: Within a few days to a week after the procedure, patients typically start to notice the effects as the muscles relax and the appearance of wrinkles diminishes. The results can last for up to several months but are not permanent. Over time, as the effects of the neurotoxin wear off, follow-up treatments are necessary to maintain the desired cosmetic outcome.
Recovery: Recovery after neurotoxins is minimal. Most people can resume their normal activities immediately after the treatment. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours after the procedure as this prevents the toxin from spreading to other areas.
It's important to note that while neurotoxin injections are generally safe and effective when administered by trained professionals, there can be side effects and risks associated with the procedure.
Common side effects of neurotoxins may include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or mild discomfort around the injection site. Severe side effects are rare but can include allergic reactions or unintended spread of the neurotoxin to nearby muscles, leading to temporary facial asymmetry. Therefore, it's crucial to choose a reputable and experienced medical spa like Dermabeauty to perform the procedure.
At Dermabeauty Medical Spa, we offer a thorough consultation before proceeding with any cosmetic treatment to ensure it is appropriate for your individual needs and medical history.
